Refund policy

HOW TO NREMT RETURN AND REFUND POLICY

Last Updated: October 4, 2026

This policy applies to purchases made on or after October 1, 2026. Purchases made before this date remain subject to the policy applicable at the time of purchase, subject to applicable law.

How To NREMT, operated by The How To LLC and also known as The How To Company, offers memberships, digital educational resources, tutoring, Boot Camps, continuing education, and other educational products.

This policy establishes the refund and return conditions for those products. Recurring billing and subscription cancellation procedures are explained separately in our Purchase Options Cancellation Policy.

I. GENERAL REFUND CONDITIONS

A. Product-Specific Refund Eligibility

Refund eligibility depends on the product purchased. The following categories are governed by their respective sections of this policy:

  1. Standard memberships, including monthly and fixed-term memberships.
  2. Memberships purchased with the 100% Guaranteed to Pass or 100% Money Back Guarantee.
  3. Individual tutoring sessions, tutoring packages, Bundled Memberships, and Tutoring Unlimited packages.
  4. Boot Camps and other educational services.
  5. Tangible products, when offered.
  6. Additional AI credit packs and AI credits included with memberships or other eligible access plans.

Purchasing one product does not automatically establish refund eligibility under the terms applicable to another product.

B. Written Refund Requests

All refund requests must be submitted in writing within thirty (30) days of the qualifying event unless a shorter or different deadline is expressly established elsewhere in this policy.

A qualifying event is the occurrence that establishes potential refund eligibility. Depending on the product, this may include the original purchase date, an examination failure, or another event expressly identified in the applicable section.

The general thirty-day request period does not extend the three-day satisfaction guarantee or another shorter product-specific deadline.

Requests submitted after the applicable deadline are ineligible unless otherwise required by law or expressly authorized in writing.

C. Maximum Refund Amounts

Where a refund is permitted:

  1. Monthly membership refunds are limited to a maximum amount equal to sixty (60) days of membership fees.
  2. Annual, lifetime, and other non-monthly membership refunds may not exceed the original amount actually paid.
  3. Tutoring sessions and tutoring packages are nonrefundable and excluded from membership refund calculations.
  4. Refund eligibility for lifetime memberships under the Guaranteed to Pass policy must be claimed within twelve (12) months of the original purchase.
  5. Bundled Memberships containing tutoring are entirely nonrefundable, subject to applicable law.

D. Individual Review and Fraud Prevention

Refund requests are evaluated individually to determine whether the applicable requirements have been satisfied.

Requests meeting all stated requirements will not be arbitrarily denied.

How To NREMT may deny requests that fail to satisfy the applicable requirements or involve fraudulent, abusive, or deceptive conduct.

Discretionary exceptions may be considered for documented hardship, system errors, or incorrect charges. Such exceptions do not reduce rights expressly established by this policy or applicable law.

E. How to Request a Refund

Refund requests must be submitted to:

Email: Support@howtonremt.com

Mail: How To NREMT, 2509 E Thousand Oaks Blvd, Thousand Oaks, CA 91362, United States.

Students should provide sufficient information to identify the purchase and explain the basis for the request.

Where documentation is required, students must submit the applicable supporting information within the relevant deadline.

F. Refund Processing

Approved refunds will ordinarily be issued to the original payment method within ten (10) business days of approval unless a different method or timeframe is required by the payment provider or applicable law.

Purchases may be processed through Shopify, Stripe, or another authorized payment provider, depending on the purchasing platform.

Payment providers and financial institutions may require additional time before refunded funds appear in the customer's account.

Outstanding balances associated with the relevant purchase may be considered when evaluating a refund, subject to applicable law.

G. Payment Disputes and Chargebacks

Students are encouraged to contact How To NREMT about billing concerns before initiating a payment dispute.

If a payment dispute or chargeback is initiated while a refund request is pending, we may pause processing while the dispute is resolved.

Duplicate refunds will not be issued for the same transaction.

Where legally permitted, membership access may be temporarily restricted during investigations of suspected fraudulent transactions or unresolved payment disputes.

H. Finality of Refunds and Credits

Refunds and credits issued under this policy are intended to resolve the applicable refund request.

A student who accepts a refund or credit for a particular amount is not entitled to receive that same amount again.

Additional refunds or adjustments are available only when expressly authorized by How To NREMT or required by law.

Any waiver or settlement associated with a refund or credit is enforceable only to the extent permitted by applicable law.

I. Inactive Accounts

An account may be designated inactive after ninety (90) consecutive days without logging into the educational platform or attending an applicable live session.

Inactive status may affect eligibility under certain discretionary refund arrangements. It does not eliminate refund rights already established under this policy or rights that cannot legally be waived.

Reinstatement may require a written request and evidence of continued eligibility for the applicable educational program.

Supporting documentation may include an Authorization to Test letter or written confirmation from an EMS instructor.

When reinstatement requirements are satisfied, an otherwise valid and unexpired membership may be restored without an additional reinstatement charge.

J. Refunds Versus Credits

For purposes of this subsection, a "credit" means a discretionary account, service, or purchase adjustment and does not mean AI credits. AI credits are governed separately by Section VI.E of this policy.

Depending on the product and circumstances, How To NREMT may provide a refund, partial refund, replacement service, or credit.

Where a product-specific provision establishes an express refund entitlement, that provision controls.

A discretionary credit does not replace an applicable statutory refund right.

K. Force Majeure

Events outside How To NREMT's reasonable control, including natural disasters, government actions, and widespread technical failures, may require us to cancel, modify, or reschedule services.

Any refund or alternative arrangement will be determined according to the applicable product provisions, contractual obligations, and law.

II. STANDARD MEMBERSHIP REFUNDS

A. Three-Day Satisfaction Guarantee

How To NREMT provides a three (3)-day satisfaction guarantee for eligible full-access and NREMT preparation memberships.

To request a refund under this guarantee, the student must contact How To NREMT within three (3) days of the original purchase.

The guarantee is subject to the eligibility restrictions established in this section.

If the student does not submit a timely request, no refund is available under the three-day satisfaction guarantee.

The student may nevertheless qualify under the separate Guaranteed to Pass provisions if all applicable requirements are satisfied.

The three-day satisfaction guarantee does not apply to Bundled Memberships.

B. Refund Restrictions

A student is not eligible for a refund under the three-day satisfaction guarantee if:

  1. The student passed the National Registry examination while using the applicable How To NREMT membership.
  2. The student accessed or downloaded training content under circumstances that trigger the applicable digital-content refund restriction.
  3. The student used educational content through a free access membership before purchasing the paid membership.
  4. The student otherwise failed to satisfy the applicable guarantee requirements.

Where a membership includes a trial, the applicable trial conditions and expressly disclosed refund restrictions also apply.

Any digital-content refund restriction is subject to applicable consumer law and any consent or acknowledgment legally required for that restriction to apply.

C. Previous Use of Free Access

A student who accesses or uses educational content, training materials, practice questions, or other educational features through a How To NREMT free access membership before purchasing a paid membership is not eligible for the three-day satisfaction guarantee.

This restriction applies regardless of the amount of free content accessed or the duration of free membership use.

Merely creating a free account without accessing or using educational content does not independently trigger this restriction.

This restriction does not automatically eliminate eligibility under the separate Guaranteed to Pass policy.

D. Digital Content

Accessing or downloading digital training content may affect eligibility under the three-day satisfaction guarantee as disclosed during purchase and access.

Where applicable law requires specific consent or acknowledgment before a digital-content refund right can be waived, the relevant legal requirements must be satisfied.

Nothing in this section eliminates rights that cannot legally be waived.

E. Subscription Renewals and Unused Time

Processed subscription renewal charges are generally nonrefundable unless another provision of this policy or applicable law establishes eligibility.

Canceling a recurring membership does not automatically entitle the student to a refund of previously processed payments or unused membership time.

Recurring billing and cancellation procedures are described in our Purchase Options Cancellation Policy.

F. Incorrect Certification Level

Students who purchase a membership for an incorrect certification level should contact support.

Where appropriate and available, How To NREMT may transfer the membership to the correct level rather than issue a refund.

A transfer does not eliminate an otherwise applicable statutory refund right.

G. Access Following a Full Refund

When a full membership refund is approved and processed, access to the refunded membership may terminate immediately.

Any continued access or replacement membership must be expressly authorized by How To NREMT.

III. 100% GUARANTEED TO PASS OR 100% MONEY BACK GUARANTEE

A. Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for a refund under the Guaranteed to Pass policy, the student must satisfy all applicable requirements.

The student must:

  1. Have failed the first National Registry examination attempt taken after using the applicable How To NREMT membership.
  2. Have successfully completed all required steps in the applicable training plan in the prescribed order.
  3. Have completed all required course sections and obtained passing grades on all required assessments, including applicable final examinations and simulators.
  4. Have submitted a written refund request within thirty (30) days of the qualifying examination failure.
  5. Have ceased using the membership following the qualifying examination failure.
  6. Not have subsequently passed the applicable National Registry examination before the refund request is resolved.

Additional requirements expressly established by the applicable guarantee purchased by the student remain applicable.

B. Refund Amounts and Deadlines

A 100% refund means the eligible amount actually paid for the applicable membership, subject to the limits established in this policy.

For monthly memberships, refunds are capped at an amount equal to sixty (60) days of membership fees.

For annual, lifetime, and other non-monthly memberships, the maximum refund does not exceed the original amount actually paid.

For lifetime memberships, the refund must be claimed within twelve (12) months of the original purchase.

C. Exclusions

The Guaranteed to Pass policy does not apply to Bundled Memberships that are expressly excluded under the tutoring provisions of this policy.

The guarantee does not automatically apply to products or services that were not sold with the applicable guarantee.

The guarantee establishes conditional refund rights. It does not promise that every student will pass the examination.

IV. TUTORING REFUND AND RESCHEDULING POLICY

A. General Nonrefundability

Individual tutoring sessions and tutoring packages are nonrefundable, whether purchased separately or as part of a bundle.

This restriction applies regardless of scheduling, attendance, educational progress, or examination results, subject to applicable law.

B. Private Tutoring Cancellation and Rescheduling

Private tutoring sessions may be canceled or rescheduled without penalty when at least twenty-four (24) hours' notice is provided before the scheduled start time.

Cancellation or rescheduling within twenty-four (24) hours may result in a fifty-dollar (US $50) rescheduling fee.

If an assessed fee is not paid within thirty (30) days, the right to reschedule may be forfeited.

Failure to attend a private tutoring session without proper notice results in forfeiture of that session.

Unused tutoring sessions may be forfeited upon expiration or termination of the applicable membership.

Tutoring sessions are nontransferable.

C. Bundled Memberships

A Bundled Membership is a product sold as a single combined purchase that includes tutoring together with membership access or other educational features.

Bundled Memberships are entirely nonrefundable, subject to applicable law.

The standard membership satisfaction guarantee and Guaranteed to Pass provisions do not apply to Bundled Memberships.

D. Tutoring Unlimited Eligibility and Duration

Tutoring Unlimited provides access to tutoring sessions for eligible students preparing for the National Registry examination, participating in an applicable initial EMS training program, or both.

The package is valid for a maximum of one (1) year from the purchase date unless otherwise expressly agreed in writing.

Students must use tutoring sessions for authorized educational purposes.

Access to tutoring and included educational resources terminates when the package expires unless otherwise agreed in writing.

E. Meaning of Unlimited Tutoring

Unlimited Tutoring allows eligible students to schedule tutoring as frequently as permitted by the package's usage limits and available scheduling opportunities.

Tutoring is limited to a maximum of two (2) hours per day and six (6) hours per week.

These limits are intended to provide reasonable scheduling access for all participating students.

F. Scheduling Restrictions

Tutoring Unlimited sessions are scheduled in one-hour increments.

Students may schedule consecutive sessions totaling up to two (2) hours per day.

A maximum of six (6) tutoring hours may be scheduled each week.

Only one session, lasting one (1) or two (2) hours, may be on the student's schedule at a time.

How To NREMT will offer at least ten (10) hours of tutoring availability on the calendar each month.

Specific dates, times, or instructors are not guaranteed.

Students are encouraged to schedule sessions early.

G. Additional Tutoring Unlimited Benefits

Tutoring Unlimited includes a one-year full-access How To NREMT membership at no additional cost.

One applicable refresher course may be available upon written request, subject to the requirements of the purchased package.

Acceptance of a refresher course by state EMS agencies or other authorities is not guaranteed.

H. Examination Scheduling

Following instructor notification that a student is prepared to take the National Registry examination, the student should schedule and take the examination within fourteen (14) calendar days unless otherwise agreed in writing.

I. Student Responsibilities

Students must schedule tutoring through the designated scheduling system.

Tutoring access is personal and nontransferable.

Students may not share membership access, training content, videos, session recordings, or other proprietary materials without written authorization.

Abuse of tutoring services, including repeated missed sessions, unauthorized sharing, or other material violations, may result in suspension or termination.

Excessive missed sessions include more than two (2) no-shows per month.

Instructors may cancel or reschedule sessions when necessary due to emergencies or other extenuating circumstances.

J. Acceptance of Tutoring Conditions

By purchasing individual tutoring, tutoring packages, Bundled Memberships, or Tutoring Unlimited, the student agrees to the applicable provisions of this section.

V. BOOT CAMP POLICY

A. Nonrefundability

Boot Camp tuition is nonrefundable, subject to applicable law.

A refund may be available only when expressly agreed upon in writing by How To NREMT or when the student has separately purchased an applicable insurance arrangement that provides refund rights.

Any optional insurance arrangement must be expressly offered and documented through a separate written agreement.

Insurance is not automatically included with Boot Camp purchases, and its availability is not guaranteed.

B. Scheduling and Participation

Students are responsible for scheduling and participating in applicable Boot Camp activities.

Misrepresentation of attendance, examination attempts, or examination scores may result in disqualification from discretionary refund consideration and other appropriate account actions.

VI. OTHER EDUCATIONAL SERVICES AND PRODUCTS

A. Group Classes

Online instructor-led classes, group tutoring sessions, and group training sessions remain available according to the terms of the applicable active membership.

Where rescheduling is permitted, students may use the scheduling mechanisms provided on our website, applicable confirmation emails, or instructions supplied by How To NREMT.

Rescheduling remains subject to availability and any applicable product-specific conditions.

B. Continuing Education

Continuing Education services provided through Safety Unlimited Inc. are subject to that provider's applicable refund requirements.

How To NREMT will submit eligible refund requests to Safety Unlimited Inc. within five (5) business days.

Safety Unlimited Inc. determines refund eligibility according to its applicable policies.

C. Paid Zoom Courses

Customers may cancel a scheduled paid Zoom course before its scheduled start time by contacting Support@howtonremt.com.

Course fees are nonrefundable, subject to applicable law.

Students who cancel before the scheduled start time may request rescheduling within fourteen (14) days of the cancellation notice.

An approved replacement session must be scheduled and completed within twelve (12) months of the original registration date.

Failure to attend or cancellation after the scheduled start time does not qualify for a refund or rescheduling credit.

Rescheduling credits are nontransferable and expire twelve (12) months after the original registration date.

D. Tangible Products

Customers should inspect tangible products promptly after delivery.

If an item arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, customers should contact How To NREMT so the issue can be evaluated and an appropriate resolution determined.

Applicable statutory rights remain unaffected.

E. AI Credits

Additional AI credits may be offered for purchase for use with eligible How To NREMT artificial intelligence features.

Purchases of additional AI credits are final and nonrefundable. No refund, cash payment, account credit, replacement value, or other reimbursement will be provided merely because purchased AI credits are unused, partially used, no longer needed, or remain in an account after a membership is canceled or otherwise ends.

AI credits are personal to the account to which they are issued. They are nontransferable and may not be transferred, sold, assigned, shared, exchanged, or moved between accounts. AI credits have no cash value and cannot be redeemed for money.

The expiration or nonexpiration of AI credits does not create a right to a refund. Purchased AI credits that remain unused are not refundable solely because they were not used.

Credits included with a membership, school or agency arrangement, promotional offer, free account, or other access plan have no separate cash value and are not independently refundable. If a membership payment or other qualifying purchase is refunded, AI credits associated with that refunded payment or purchase may be removed from the account.

The nonrefundability provisions in this subsection do not prevent How To NREMT from correcting a verified billing or fulfillment error, such as a duplicate charge, an incorrect charge, or a charge for AI credits that were not added to the purchaser's account. A customer who believes an AI credit purchase was charged or fulfilled in error must contact Support@howtonremt.com in writing within thirty (30) days of the charge so the matter can be investigated. Where appropriate, How To NREMT may refund or reverse the erroneous charge and remove any corresponding AI credits.

Nothing in this subsection limits any refund, reversal, or other remedy that is required by applicable law and cannot legally be waived.

VII. SCHOOL AND ORGANIZATIONAL PURCHASES

Schools, EMS programs, and other organizations may purchase memberships or educational services under separate written agreements.

Where an organizational agreement expressly establishes different refund conditions, that agreement governs the applicable organizational purchase, subject to applicable law.

Students who independently purchase personal memberships remain subject to this policy.

VIII. LEGAL PROVISIONS

A. Governing Law

This policy is governed by applicable United States federal law and the laws of the State of Texas, subject to mandatory consumer protections that may apply in other jurisdictions.

B. Venue and Jurisdiction

To the extent permitted by applicable law, disputes arising under this policy shall be resolved in the appropriate state or federal courts located in Bexar County, Texas.

Mandatory consumer venue rights remain unaffected.

C. Severability

If any provision is determined to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision shall be enforced to the maximum extent permitted by law.

The remaining provisions shall continue in effect.

Minor clerical or formatting errors do not independently invalidate otherwise enforceable provisions.

D. Non-Waivable Rights

Nothing in this policy limits statutory rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded or waived.

Where applicable law conflicts with a provision of this policy, the mandatory legal requirement controls.

E. Prior Purchases

For purchases made before the effective date of this policy, the version applicable at the time of purchase remains effective, subject to applicable law.

Archived versions may be requested by contacting support.

F. Relationship to Other Policies

This policy should be read together with the How To NREMT Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Purchase Options Cancellation Policy.

Where this policy establishes a specific refund requirement, that requirement governs refund eligibility for the applicable product, subject to applicable law and any controlling separate written agreement.

G. Policy Changes

How To NREMT may update this policy prospectively.

Material changes affecting active memberships will be communicated in accordance with applicable law and existing contractual obligations.

The effective date will be updated when a revised policy is published.
